Guidelines & Eligibility Criteria

Guidelines

  • There will be 2 tracks for this contest:
  • General (Open to all)
  • Student (For full-time students studying in any recognised institution)
  • There is no limit on the length of the comic, however, valid submissions must contain at least 60 panels (One image or scene is counted as one panel)
  • Participants can create a comic on any topic of their choice.
  • The comic should follow our content guidelines.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Any person residing in India is eligible to participate in this challenge
  • Students, Amateurs, and Professionals can all apply.
  • Applications can be submitted as both Individuals, Teams, or as part of a company
  • Participants must self-certify their eligibility and provide accurate information. Wrong information may lead to disqualification.
  • Dashtoon, Google Play, and IAMAI employees are not eligible to participate.

Evaluation Criteria

The submissions will be evaluated by an expert panel of judges from the comic industry and Dashtoon. All submissions will be judged on:

  • Storytelling and Creativity
    • Entries will be assessed on the originality of their plot and concept, ensuring they present fresh and unique ideas.The storyline should be engaging, with well-paced progression that captivates readers.Creativity in the use of themes and ideas is essential, showcasing innovative approaches to storytelling.
  • Artistic Quality
    • The overall visual appeal and consistency of the art style will be key factors in evaluation.Entries should demonstrate an effective use of color to enhance the narrative, set the mood, and amplify the storytelling experience.
  • Panel Layout and Composition
    • Clarity and effectiveness in panel sequencing are crucial for seamless storytelling.Entries should feature innovative and dynamic layouts that enrich the narrative.The flow of action and dialogue between panels should be smooth and intuitive to maintain reader engagement.
  • Emotional Impact
    • Comics will be judged on their ability to evoke emotions such as humor, tension, or romance. Entries should include memorable moments that leave a lasting impression on readers and heighten the overall impact of the story.
  • Speech and Dialogue
    • Natural and effective dialogue is an important criterion, ensuring conversations feel authentic and relatable.The use of text should complement the visuals, providing support to the narrative without detracting from the artwork.
